I basically went via your precise project. My use is for photos, employing Photoshop. you have 2 creative appropriate subjects: a million) photographs processing 2) demonstrate photograph/accuracy. So - processing. except you're processing heavily heavy photographs - which ability video - then you definately shouldn't see a sizeable distinction (IMHO) - and despite in case you do, nicely they're the two great quickly. Neck and neck basically approximately. yet demonstrate accuracy. They the two have astonishing demonstrate - however the iMac has a sleek demonstrate - and you're able to be able to get the MacPro with a sleek or matte demonstrate (additional funds if I remember). the subject with the sleek demonstrate is that, on a similar time as the image remains enormously astonishing, look close on the Blacks and the Whites - there is greater definition attainable to be certain and administration on the matte demonstrate that gets misplaced on the sleek. Ask some designers what they think of. I did. a number of them choose for the Matte in basic terms as a result. some use the sleek and that's an argument at times whilst they're working in heavy darks or lighting fixtures, in any different case no longer lots a project. aside from that blacks and whites definition concern, i could think of you're nice with the iMac. You stated you have a project approximately fees, and in case you're pondering a working laptop or laptop, than portability isn't a important concern. So purchase the laptop - spend additional funds on RAM, or a 2nd demonstrate screen, area for storing, and so on. you're able to be able to stroll away with greater on your money than basically the MacPro could supply (however this is a candy gadget). I went for the 20" iMac and could be including a 2nd Matte demonstrate screen (22 to 24") for serious stuff.

If you're a graphic designer, then a Mac is your only choice, really. Powerbooks are perfect, as well as Macbooks (which have the Intel chip in it or whatever) (both are laptops). It also depends on where you're always on the go or just like to do everything at home.

Doesn't matter whether you get a laptop or desktop, what matters is what programs you have on the computer, and MAC has better graphic programs.

Depends on what you want to do exactly, want to be portable or not?... Cheaper for a desktop though *and easily upgradeable*, and mac's are better for graphic design.
