I'm not computer-savvy enough to maybe answer you correctly, but I'm using DSL and on occasion my service seems as slow as dial-up, and when it does, I go straight to the company, just down the road from me about 9 miles, and tell them about it, and they run a check on their lines and improve as necessary. The way I figure, if I'm paying for the service, I'd better get the service as expected, or I'll "politely" (as in assertively) ask them why I'm not. And they're pretty good at taking care of me in this rural area. I wouldn't know if there's anything inside your computer you can do to fix or improve your speed, so you'll have to wait for someone else to answer that for you, but since the DSL people came out to my house to install it, I figure they'd get it done right the first time, and if they don't, I just go to their office with a smile on my face and ask why not, and all is taken care of. And if done politely and maturely and assertively enough, it won't take too many times to correct the problem. God Bless you.

search for instantaneous boosters or instantaneous signal boosters. fairly they're only third social gathering antennas that replaces the inventory antenna on the instantaneous router which permits boosts the instantaneous signals. I easily have not used one in my opinion so i'd examine up on it.

How do you know the signal is weak? If this is the true answer, the only real answer is...
MOVE
The signal strength is a function of your distance to the telco's central office (or DSLAM)...
If they sold you the service, then it should be strong enough to use... If not you will need to cancel!
