Actually, Ask the Planet is just a contest to promote the Yahoo! Answers site. It's not actually the site itself. And, yes, I have learned many things. I did so much researching when I started out months ago, though, that I'm now spending a lot of time answering similar questions to what I've already gone over, but I still find some great questions that are fun doing a little bit of research for.
The best part is getting answers from other people, though. Sometimes I get responses on here that any regular online research wouldn't be able to get me because these are people who happened to have first-hand experience about something which doesn't have as much documentation online. I enjoy adding a little something about my own personal experiences every once in a while because I feel that's what contributes the most to Yahoo! Answers.

Yes, I do learn things. But I also give short answers, and not because of the points, It's because of the questions. I mean, does a question like "do you like my avatar?" is worthy of a good answer?
But if I go to the fields I'm really interested on like, travel, environment and food, well I really read the questions and the answer. And if I'm going to give and answer find out if it's accurate.

Sometimes. Some questions are just plain dumb (those are fun to answer I'll admit) but there are some neat and interesting questions that really make you think. I'm here to learn and have fun....but mostly to have fun.

I am learning to not waste my time with people who ask frivolous questions. I also look at their profile and see what kind of questions they have asked before. Once in while I will answer a dumb question because people actually are that ignorant.

I'm not learning new things, I don't even pay attention to those questions. I'm not interested in any of them. I don't respond to them either.

No, but I see a lot of very poor grammar, spelling, and quite a few sentence fragments.
