i would not have to touch the site, hardly at all. i think the company that has this site will do most all of the work for me. all i have to do is to tell them the info they are to put in and poof . . . 7 days later it's ready to go. it's offered by my a company that works with my wholesaler.

I would say you should spend between $200-$300 when all is said and done. This will include $150-$200 for a dedicated server to support the bandwith of your site (if it becomes succesful), another $20-$30 per month for a credit card processer, and the rest for custom software etc.

If you are doing the maintaining yourself, only the cost of your hosting & your domain name. Most hosting packages have a script library called Fantastico which has e-commerce scripts which you can install at will.

If you ask another company to maintain it for you... the numbers you may have to pay to maintain it would be a lot.
