You can install multiple versions of XP on many partitions/drives and control access with a "boot.ini" file... You can actually have a time to select which one to use, and a default if no answer in a set time...

For more info on this, see the KB article in the sources link below

If you are only using Windows XP and you are not trying to create a dual boot system the safest thing would be the erase the contents of the first hard drive. Eraser from download.com will work perfectly or not the windows formatting utility will have to do. Then raw write a partition onto the first drive, you wont have to raw write if you have cleaned the first drive with the format utility. Then install windows on the second drive and format the first after you have completed windows installation. If you are trying to achieve a dual boot or trying to leave the first drive empty please email for more information at bountymischief6000@yahoo.com

switching the configure might not work in that case just unplug the first drive ( I assume that has another operating system?) with that drive unpugged just install winxp on the other hard drive and when it is done and it is loaded turn off the computer hook the other drive up and start it up and then it will give you a choice of operating systems if you want the first drive to be blank no data at all or for storage only reformat it in xp from the secomd hard drive

Your question isn't clear.. do you want to install another OS into your computer? if so.. just run Windows XP as normal and make it install on the second partition which really should be your second hard drive... it should state it as a separate hard drive during the xp setup.. point the installation there.

Search for "hard drive +install tutorial". And you could probably post hardware questions to the hardware section and software questions to the software section. You could also not scatter posts like dandelions over the board because you don't get an immediate response. If you want immediate answers, pay for support. *REPORTED*
