Yeah I LOVE the Yankees! They rule the school! They always will! Derek Jeter is so awesome. And I absolutely HATE the Red Sox. They could all die for all I care!

Most people are going to answer yankees because they like to root for teams that have a winning history, and because they are front runners. Being a Red Sox fan before 2004, required that the individual had a special quality inside. Some of the current Red Sox fans are no different than the typical yankee fan, just a fan because they won a title recently. Most of these front runners are now also like the Steelers, Heat and Carolina Hurricanes. Oh, Red Sox #1!

If you live in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Maine, then you're a Red Sox fan. Half of Connecticut and good portions of upstate NY cheer on the Sox, too. They are a regional team that gives us something to cheer for no matter what. No one alive can remember when Fenway wasn't in Kenmore Square...but a lot can remember Ted Williams swing, Spaceman's ridiculus sayings, Tiant's pitching, Fisk's homerun...and more than that, the waiting. Ted deserved a ring or two. We almost had it in '75. I hate to mention '86...and 2003 sucked, too. Yet fans stayed loyal through generations and pain. The unfortunate breed of Red Sox fans leads to great memories, but also to bad ones. 2004 was a reward for a whole region instead of a city (or half a city). Old men and women broke down crying because finally, FINALLY, they won. We won.
I'm a Red Sox fan. I'll never stray. I was born in New Hampshire, spent some time in Maine, and now live three blocks from Fenway. Go Sox.

Larry Lucchino, president of the Red Sox, referred to the Yankees as the Evil Empire to the South. For a while, they were playing Lord Vader's March when A-Rod went to the plate at Fenway.

I'll take any team besides the Yankees. Baseball seriously needs a salary cap. How a team like NY can have a payroll over $200 million, and there are teams who aren't even capable of spending $50 million, seems unfair to me.

Can we clue you in on the fact that despite what ESPN says, there are 28 other teams in the two leagues, and that a good majority of the fans of those 28 teams think that the Yankees and the Red Sux are both crap?

If I have to pick between the two, I'll pick the Red Sox. I despise the Yankees. I am a Dodgers fan
