no I don't think it would be racist but I don't agree with it because we are all one person no matter what color we are.

When MTV was created, it did not show any black videos. It showed only rock and pop. I believe that Michael Jackson and Prince were nearly the only two shown on the network for many years. (do you think that was racist?)

In response to this BET was created after MTV. At first it was just a two hour block of programming before it became a network. It would show mostly R&B, which was not being shown on any other network.

Since, music have evolved. BET plays mostly gangster rap and less R&B. That is just the way it is.

This would not be a problem if blacks weren't discriminated against in the first place. Now, we have a channel for different types of music. Have you seen the Country Music Channel? Rap, R&B, rock, and pop have no business on that channel. That does not make the channel racist. Not at all.

Think about radio stations. You know which ones play the type music that you like. They each cater to a different audience. It does not make the station racist.

OK my friends at college and I were talking about this... Its ok for Black people because they think that its not racist because they are on the other end. But if White people tried to do it it would be called racist...its totally unfair not that i think we need a WET lol.

um, you know what...i never thought of that. wow, that's kinda tough. i mean, not just black people watch BET i know alot of asians/whites/hispanics too who watch it. but maybe they shouldn't call it WET maybe like Rock Network or something because some black people might take it the wrong way even if it's not meant to be racist.

Yes... because even though people can hate whites, really if we walk around saying "white power" or having TV stations like WET (which I find hilarious really, WET... ha ha.) Then we're racist. u_u just the way life is.

just to let u know bet stands for "black entertainment television) and i would be mad because black people (like me) would be offended because you are making fun of us. white people have mostly all other network stations except UPN (U PICK A *****). so i say yes it may be racist but i wouldnt be that offended

Well MTV and VHI is like already white entertainment. Don't get me wrong, I like them all, but that's why BET was really created, honestly.

We don't need a WET...we already have:

CBS
NBC
ABC

and countless cable networks that do not have a high enough representation of minorities.

No. If Black people have the right to something white people do too. We're just to scared to do something like that.

Isn't that what Spike TV is? :)

Just kidding.

It probably would be considered racist. But people do enjoy having things to complain about.
