I'm a deployed soldier in Iraq and I've been gone for awhile. My wife never thinks about sex and she rarely makes sexual comments that much. She does make a lot of jokes, she's got a good sense of humor. She told me over the phone her and her next door neighbor were going to get the words harder tattooed on their lower backs. She said she was serious, I don't know whether she was joking or not. That's not the point, I'm kind of disturbed about why she would say that to me over the phone knowing I'm over here in Iraq. I asked her was it to be funny, something for her husband, or are you trying to be funny about something you did behind my back that only her and her friend know. She hasn't responded yet. I just sent the e-mail not too long ago. Am I little insecure about this? Also, what do you think?

I don't know. I think you have every right to be concerned...Is this next door neighbor a male or female? Either way, you are right to be concerned because why would she tell you that knowing you are so far away from her. I understand she makes a lot of jokes, I am the same way, but sometimes people joke when they want to tell you the truth. You know?
Stay safe. Right now you can't afford to worry about these things while you are there.

I think that it is somewhat weird, but hopefully she was just saying it to be funny. I'm sure you two are in a difficult place in your relationship being so far apart. If she really and truly loves you it is probably nothing more than a joke, and I'm sure she wouldn't have said anything to you at all if she had done something behind your back. It basically seems to me that you are a little insecure, and I really can't blame you because you are so far away from your wife. It's very hard to have a long distance relationship, and my ex and I had a lot of trust issues bacause of the distance between us. As long as you two communicate as much as possible there should be no problems. Just remember to tell your wife everything (all your doubts, fears, emotions) because guys have a tendency to not show that side to their partners.

it's hard to be so far apart (I've been there) and all you can do is have faith in her and your relationship. It is actually a good thing that she has someone to be there as a support system. As for if its a joke or not just take it as one. sarcasms is often a defense mechanism.
as for the whole sex thing when my husband and i were apart i took on a whole celibate lifestyle. and it's hard to talk about something that you can't have. So just have faith in her and remember that you love her because that's all that matters.
And by the thank you for everything you do it's you and the other brave soldiers out there that make our life what it is. I hope you know we all appreciate you very much.

No it sounds like she is telling you that she is serious to see what you might say about her doing it. If you don't want her to do it than tell her your feelings. Are you asking if we might understand what that means? If she is going to get a tattoo on her lower back that says "harder" she is telling you what to do when you are giving it from behind. I think that is pretty funny, but I wouldn't do it or if I was a guy, let my woman do it. Just talk to her and make sure that she knows how you feel. Good luck!

Being so far away I think that you have the right to be a little insecure. That is where good communication between couples is crucial. You did the best thing just by letting her know it troubled you. Good luck and come home safe.

you both might be insecure about your distance she might feel like you are doing something while you are on leave and you feel like she is doing something at home her actions is that of woman trying to make her man jealous and it is working tell your wife you love her and would not cheat on her and tell her that you hope she will honor your vows and be faithful to you as well let her no you miss her you are miles away with a bunch of men and you know we think all men are dogs especially military men she needs reassurance to keep her from doing things like calling you and saying she is getting an explicit tattoo your question along says you love her its time she knows that no matter the distance you honor her anyhow .

first off, thank you for fighting for our country. As for her saying that, kinda weird. Did she laugh when she said it? I hope it was just a joke and she isn't doing anything bad. She shouldnt have said that! Its not right to make you feel insecure while you are away. I wouldnt do that . She must have new friends that are rubbing off on her personality.
