It really depends. The physician I used gave a discount for having insurance and after all was said and done, it cost about $300.

Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can not do with YOUR body. You are the only one that will be affected by your decision. You will mourn; you will be very depressed. Just make sure this is something you can handle emotionally.

I've never heard of health insurance that covered an abortion. If you choose to go that route (or someone you know) get the cost ahead of time from the clinic to be used. They'll probably set up a payment plan if needed, although that's just a guess.

About 2/3 of insurance companies cover some form of elective abortions. To find out if yours does, call the number on the back of you membership card. You may want to ask them for a referral at the same time, as they will know which places take their coverage. If they cannot give you one, call 1-800-772-9100. They will give you factual, unbiased information and referrals.

Insurance does not cover "elective" procedures, including abortion. You have to pay out of pocket. Many times they won't even cover complications from an abortion procedure s/a continued bleeding, scarring, infection, etc.

Please reconsider abortion as an option. It is not a good birth control option. I only believe it's a possible option in the case of incest and possibly rape (usually with rape they can give you the morning-after pill). Explore all the options including prevention and abstinance. There are also many people who want to adopt and would love your baby as their own.

I know too many women who have regretted this option. I also know many women who have adopted out their babies and been greatful for the life that they gave them.

God bless.

That is totally dependent on your health care provider, and the type of insurance you have. Some providers will not cover abortions; others cover it at some percentage (25%, 50% and 80% are the standard coverage percentages).

ALSO: Beware of the 800 number given by "Auntie Rae" above. This the number for the National Abortion Federation, an organization made up of abortionists. Its members make millions of dollars every year selling abortions, so they are NOT going to provide you with unbiased information. They're going to tell you whatever it takes to make their sale. It's much smarter to get your information from sources with NO financial stake in abortion.

You should contact your insurance provider and ask them about their coverage. They may not cover abortions at all, or they may only cover a percentage.

If they don't cover it and you should happen to need one, Planned Parenthood will help you to find a reliable doctor who doesn't charge a lot and may even let you repay them over time.

Some insurance companies will cover the entire cost exept for your co-pay, others will pay a percentage, and other carriers won't cover it at all.
You need to talk to your doctor and research your health insurance.

I am not sure about the cost but I have read some comments that people have left and just want you to know that they are bigots. Sorry that people have to be so rude about your situation especially when you asked them to spare the comments. I wish you the best of luck.
