Some probably do but most probably don't. If they really truly cared and helped out then why are so many schools in black communities still without resources such as up to date books, computers, and qualified teachers? Let's be honest here a lot of celebrities are only looking out for themselves and for their family and are too focused on that to pay attention to other people and their issue. They are so separated from the real world that half of the time they don't open their eyes to see what is going on and lend a helping hand. By the same token there are those who have tried to help as much as they can and try to spread the word through the media about what needs to be done, but the media most often will just not care so much and will opt to sensationalize all the bad things going on rather than show communities who need help.

It depends on the person. Lets say all racial issues in the black community was dealt with.
A lot do care, but there are amny that don't want the help. You take any black violence and crime and what do most rappers have to rap about?
Take out racism and what will be the point of the NAACP?
And for some with nothing to complain about what will Al Sharpton and others have to complain about?

They care more about money and themselves, at least once they hit it big in the business. Some start out with a true ideology but lose it along the way. A perfect example of this is the group "Rage Against the Machine". They started out with some purist ideals (screwy, maybe, but purist) but once the money and fame started rolling in they just became another cog in the wheel of the machine.

Like anything else in life this cannot be answered by just saying a simple yes or no. There are some rappers who do care such as Ludacris, Prince, Oprah, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Kanye West, etc. Then you have the others who are in their position who could care less.

I think it depends on the person. Rappers, actors, actresses and politicians are individuals with individual views.
