I got a call from a Ready Limo at 916-431-0490. It seemed suspicious when I answered it I got an automated machine asking for me. It further asked me that if this was me, please press 1 so that the party could talk with me. I smelled a rat, so I hung up. Anybody?

You were right to be cautious of this. Here is something on the web from back in 2003:
"...One interesting failure I noticed was with the caller ID for outbound calls. At first, my cell phone said "unavailable #", then both my Vonage line and my cell phone reported the CID from Vbuzz as being 916-431-0490 with the name "Ready Limo" which I have seen before on incoming telemarketing calls. Ready Limo doesn't seem to be a valid Sacramento number and you get a fast busy if you dial it. 916-431 appears to be a CLEC, Brooks Fiber Communications of CA with the switch being in West Sacramento, CA. Never heard of them before or seen them listed in our local listing of CLECs. ..."

Yea, some scam or creditor! If they really want to talk to you let them actually have a person call you.

ps. be careful of pressing numbers and pound and star buttons. I remember some scam that they ask you to press some numbers and what you actually would do is accept responsibility for the NEXT call that person would make.
