You are 100% right! I love your argument. We all have faith is something. And so do Athesists. I think that Athiests also believe in God,they just don't want to admit it. They don't like (as do many others) admitting that they need a Savior. That they can't do it all alone. the Bible says "The devils also believe and they tremble" James 2:19
Keep up the good work!

There is no empirical evidence to support or prove the information contained in the bible. There is empirical evidence that supports the theory of evolution. This evidence can be seen in the natural world through archeology, anthropology, etc. There is more evidence for evolution than for the bible.
The main gap seems to be a line in education. Most people that believe in God or Jesus or the bible do not have the scientific education or background to understand the roots of Evolution. I think that this is the very reason that they are so quick to dismiss Evolution. The church has been a very powerful organization. It has been instilling the thoughts of the bible for a very long time. Evolution, like all new theories, was different (such as the world not being flat). The uneducated were also quick to dismiss the world being round until more evidence was discovered. It has been a little over 100 years since the first thoughts of Evolution were discussed. Much change in the science field has occured since. Among this change has been evidence to evolution through fossils and animal records. Has time passes, more evidence will be uncovered (literally) and this will cause more and more people to change their views.
There may be truth in the bible, but the truth of man lies in Evolution.
The leap of faith that you refer to gives evolution further support. A leap of faith is required to believe in Jesus/God. Faith is defined as "belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence". Athiest can make a "leap to believe" evolution based on empirical evidence. Empirical is defined as "derived from observation or experiment".
So it becomes a matter of:
"Something that is derived from observation" versus "A belief that does not rest on logical proof"
Evolution vs. The Bible is a matter of tangibility.
This is where the line is drawn.

Obviously u are a baby christian. Read the first book of the bible Genesis. In the first chapter it clearly states that when God began creating the heavens and the earth, the earth was at first a shapeless, chaotic mass, with the spirit of GOD brooding over the dark vapors. Then GOD said let there be light and light appeared and so forth. Read it. So how can u say that there is no proof that something came from nothing. Because here is proof that God created the earth when there was nothing. Really in all there was something there the whole time and that was the spirit of GOD. All he had to do was speak.
GOD gives us the choice to choose him or the world. If a person is not born again then he is blinded by satan and I believe all these atheist people are blind. The only way they can see is if they choose Christ. Many are called but few are chosen.

I do believe that you have to have a certain amount of faith for whatever you believe, be it atheism or Christianity. Faith that God on earth was killed and brought back to life thousands of years ago, or faith that there is no spiritual entity involved in life on earth. However, please note that belief in evolution isn't an atheist thing. In fact, most scientifically educated anybodies (including Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Agnostic and Atheist) believe in evolution because there is irrefutable evidence of it. I think you may have been referring to the start of life, which is what is not certain, and while that may be directly related to evolution, it is not quite the same thing (and everyone needs a little faith to believe whatever they believe).
I think what is trickier than understanding atheists, and perhaps the better question, is asking how someone decides on which religion they will believe in. My guess is that if you were born in a very different place - Turkey, perhaps - you may not be the Christian you are right now, but rather a most wonderfully devoted Muslim.

Actually, the "leap" part is just the beginning of faith. If you want to study more about faith... How to Attain Knowledge of Higher Worlds by Rudolph Stiener, Essential Tibetian Buddhism by Robert A.F. Thurman, the book of Job in the Old Testament, and the walking on water and withering of the fig tree parts of the gospel. Notice it does NOT say that Jesus was telling a parable or story there. He meant exactly what he said. It's amazing that the Christians will read that and say it's too fantastic to be a literal truth and then say that anyone who CAN do those things is practicing magic and is evil. I think everyone on both sides of this arguement has a lot to learn. Unplug your TV's, computers, and radios and learn to like reading actual books because this stuff is NOT on the web.

That's a pretty good question, actually - although Darwinists would tell you that there is, in fact, scientific evidence in their idea of creation. What has NEVER been explored fully is the middle ground - could we have started as evolution dictates, then - through "divine intervention" become what we are today?
Born-agains are simply those who have accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour, more than just being born into a religion. I personally think it takes a leap of faith, no matter WHAT you believe! That's why they CALL it "belief!"

I think a lot of the atheists out there have been driven to it by the Christian religions. Think of how confusing it is to have so many different sects, each with different beliefs, each quoting their own bible, or the same bible interpeted differently. I have 3 young adult children and had 3 more in foster care. I had to talk to all of them and ask "Is it God you don't believe in, or is it religion?" Once they thought it out, it was religion. I am a firm believer in a higher power but I refuse to attend church. Even the bible speaks against organized religion. (Not that any church will ever teach that in a sermon). It is easier for a lot of people to choose not to believe at all than to feel they have to conform to the doctrine and agenda of a church. And for those who truly have no belief, who need proof, that doesn't necessarily mean they buy the evolution idea either. They are just stating that they are logical people who need concrete proof. If they look for it, they'll find it. If not, then let them be happy in whatever they choose to believe or not believe. It is not up to you or me to change the world or "convert", it is only up to us to be the best people that we can. Many more people will be more open to God if they see a good role model rather than an argumentative holier than thou tyrant.

well my dear there is much more proof for evolution than there is the creation story. No one has ever found bones of modern man (adam eve noah etc) but we have found bones of premodern man (cromag, austaliapythicus etc) showing how man has EVOLVED. Isn't a bigger leap of faith to think that the whole race of man was propagated by two people that had two sons! who did they have sex with? Was it just poor Caine and his mother eve? EWWWW!
also realise that you are making the kind ofblanket generalizations that often get peopel in your religion in trouble (whatever happened to understanding and not jusdgeing others?)
not all atheists believe in evolution. Reversely there are many MANY Christains who do. you cannot deny that all things evolve. And the bible does leave out a whole lot of things. I think that the two theories can work together and I wish people would realise this!

All it takes to be an athiest is to not believe in God. Many Christian scientists must study evolution. There are some things that have been proven to show evolution is possible, so you can't really say there is no "proof".

The idea that a supernatural all knowing/caring being who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by "god" you mean the set of physical laws that govern the Universe, then i would believe in such a god. However..... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity.
Thankfully, the atheists of history brought us from the flat-earth mentality to the state we are now, getting as close to Objective Reality as possible. We aren't there yet, but at least we're on the frontier of knowledge. What came before the Big Bang or the Creation...to me that's the frontier of atheism and theism.
