Yes, it was the best way.

I think she just got really mad about the situation and the fact that she wasn't in much control about how she could leave so she just decided to do it her way, which I had no problem with since she was leaving anyhow and it does seem kind of shady about how her contract was not renewed. The only problem is that now she has burned so many bridges by doing it that it might be hard for her to get another job in entertainment again. Also, why do people talk about Star having surgery all the time? We all know Barbara Walters has had a bunch of facelifts, but nobody says anything. Come on people the woman is in her late seventies and her face is as smooth as a twenty year old's!

Absolutely not! Did you know that they were going to let her go last November and Babara Walters (the creator of the show) did not want to - thinking of her at Christmas and she has bills also and a family. The second time came around of talks of letting her go and AGAIN Barbara Walters wanted to wait till she found another job to annouce that she woudl be leaving the show. She turned around on National TV, without discussing it with no one that she would be leaving the show soon. She played herself dude - totally! If she would have done it the right way - she could have been announcing that she has accepted a new position and would be leaving the show soon . . . leaving with style and grace. And what is so more about that she was given two chances! That was the most ignorant move for someone of her supposed to be professionalism. Plain Stupid!!!!
Now I wouldn't want to work for someone that did not want me as an employee anymore but THE TRUTH IS. . . I would not have left without something else being lined up for me. I would have to leave on a note that I am moving on to bigger and better endeavors! She had a chance to let the whole world know that she was a way better person than that!

I don't think Star Jones had a choice, she knew she was on her way out. This was all (I feel) because she lost weight. Barbara Walters wasn't very nice to her. I don't think that Rosie O'Donnell is a good choice for replacement. I'd rather have Star Jones. But Star will rise again, this is opportunity knocking for her. She will do fine! Yes I agree with her 100+ %

Yes I do agree with her. I know that in any job I would tell my customers that I was leaving and explain to them that the reason why is because I felt like I was going to be fired. I don't blame her for wanting to tell her fans and the public before some stupid reporter messes it all up. That's so ridiculous that they would tell her to never return and she wasn't just leaving on a whim she gave them plenty of notice. I don't think that now that Meridith and Star are gone I don't think that they can recover from this and that The View is on its last legs. They've lost 2 other co-stars as well. Whats up with Elisabeth? Her face looks like she had surgery?

From my understanding and knowledge, Barbara Walters told Star Jones (way before the season was to begin taping) that she would not be asked to come back to 'The View'; therefore, she could have 'gone gently into that good night' and made other arrangements. Realistically, if you know that you are about to be asked to resign and/or just outright be terminated, to stay in the limelight and not loose your class/status, you make preparations to go somewhere else and/or start your own endeavors.

I am not a Star Jones fan but I would say that this, like everything she does, was just all about her. She is not a team playah and her popularity went down with her weight AND the freebie bride stuff. I never cared for her before all that. I think they wanted her off the show and would have let her do it gracefully BUT NO...she gotta be the STAR>

I agree with her. She did got fired but ABC would like to cover it up with something ceremonious. I also don't know how she's gonna work with O'Donnell on the show after all she said about Jones' surgery.... I Jones to start her own show. I'll be a fan. Does anyone know her? She might want to consider fixing her face before comes on TV again. Although her new look is sexy, her face is saggy. She should consider talking to Oprah.

Then you must be a spoiled brat. How many employers would be courteous enough to give a person the opportunity to maintain their dignity and privacy by providing time for them to find a new job and use it as their reason for leaving? I bet the few that would, won't anymore after seeing Star's deplorable behavior. Why can't she just come clean, rather than making others feel inadequate by presenting her weight loss as being the result of exercise and willpower? Is Botox the reason her forehead is immobile and looks like it is made from plastic?

Starr Jones is a jack *** and I am glad to see her off the show. I lost any respect that I may have had for her when she "pimped" out her wedding. We all get married, but I don't think that she went about it the wrong way. I can't stand her, and I think she should have been let off the show a long time ago. Maybe now that she is gone, I will start watching it again

Absolutely!!! I was just waiting for her to do it. I've always liked Barbara Walters and cannot believe that she feels "betrayed" by Star. What a crock! If anyone should feel betrayed it's Star - since The View decided to hire that big obnoxious mouth Rosie O'Donnell. As soon as I heard they'd hired her, I emailed Barbara to let them know they've lost a loyal viewer forever.

Rock on Star - you were the best thing that ever happened to that show! Best of luck to whatever she decides to do now - I hope we see her in another show soon!
