The Deal:
I applied for a job at McD's and had a interview and later on (June 28) had orientation for mc'ds.Today (June29) I recieved a phone call sayin that they didnt need any more 15 year olds. Also, they were going to pay me under miniuim wage. They were gonna pay me $ 4.75 an hour. Mininum wage in GA is $5.15. What do you think i should do?
Thanks

unfortunately nothing... you are never guaranteed a job no mater what your age... and the min wage laws are different for every state but what I have heard is that if you are under 16 there is a different wage because you can not do the full job of someone over 16.

You aren't hired anywhere until they offer you a job. Going to an interview and orientation does not mean you are more likely to get a job than someone else who did the same thing.
They don't want to hire younger workers if they can help it because there is more liability.
I would go for a job like babysitting or helping elderly people with house cleaning or something where they'd pay you more money.

By the way, the federal minimum wage IS 5.15 but a state can have a higher min. wage if they want. Georgia happens to only pay the very minimum.

Sounds like age discrimination to me! I'd make a ruckus! You have your working papers? Make a big stink about it! and NO WAY 5.15 is minimum wage!
