I've had some wonderful friends in my life over the years.. Several of them are no longer in this world but will remain in my heart forever as delicate pieces of the puzzle of my life.

It depends??? 'What do you mean by FRIENDS'??For me the real friend that i can talk with and tell him some of my secrets and feel free "4",but the friends that i just feel happy in their company too many i can't count them...
BUT,if you mean a real close friend that i can tell him all my secrets..NO ONE i don't mean that all the people are bad no no no no...But i believe in a proverb in my language "The secret is not a secret if it goes out from the two"(THE TWO MEANS YOUR LIPS) ALSO, don't blame your friend for not keeping your secret as you couldn't keep it before, when you told him your secret..
So, there is no one that i can be so open with him and tell him everything about myself or my secrets.
BUT, finally, as i grow old i find that my friends become more and more as i gain more experiences.
I hope you could understand my language.

I would say NONE...
Because friends are only there in the good times...ask something of them and an excuse will be made...doesn't matter how legitimate the excuse sounds, it's still an excuse...not to help...
My family are selfish narcissistic scum...
My partner may be the closest thing to a real friend, but that is debatable...lol...if he didn't get sex from me and if I didn't do the majority of the house work...would he be there for me, or out looking for a 'better model'....????
I am my only real friend...

Many. I could count ten to fifteen the number of people who I could turn to if I needed help, and thats the measure of a 'real' friend is it not?
I also have many 'aquaintances' who I like. In fact I don't quite break it down that way. My friends are people who I feel I can trust and they feel like they can trust me and I think that it doesn't really depend on how long you've known someone.

My uncle defines a friend as someone who "will wake up in the middle of night to donate you a pint of blood". Along those lines, excluding family members, I would have to say that I have 15 friends that I could count on in a crunch i.e., in the event that I lost alot of blood during the night.
I have alot of aquaintances, but most would probably just hang the phone up and roll over.
