It could be either one of two things; an evaporation line, or like you said, an extremely faint positive.

I myself had an extremely faint positive, which was very hard to notice. It did turn out that I was pregnant, and I'm now 18 weeks along. It is possible.

When did you first notice this line? If you noticed it after the first 10 minutes of taking the test, chances are it is an evaporaion line.

I'm going to include the link to a trying to conceive forum, that I used when I was trying. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise.

The positive line is really faint. Is this okay? An HPT tells you exactly one thing: your urine either has detectable pregnancy hormone in it, or it doesn't. The darkness or lightness of a line doesn't mean much. Generally speaking, a very light line can mean there is a small amount of hCG in your urine, and a very dark line can mean there is a larger amount of hCG in your urine. This is why you may get a faint positive at 10 DPO but a darker positive at 18 DPO. However, this is not always true. Tests are all different, and even tests in the same box may differ in sensitivity. Comparing light/dark lines will just drive you nuts. If you see a line in the "results" window, you're preg!

Did you read it though before the 10 minute mark? if not then it could be an evaporation line which means a false positive. Re take the test using first morning urine but you are proably pregnant. good luck

My period was 3 days late I used the First Response & got a faint line (so faint I was sure I was imagining it). Then I tried one of the digital tests (they say Pregnant or Not Pregnant) the next day & it said Not Pregnant. On the 5th day of missing my period I got a blood test & that came up negative. I tried a digital test again 1 & 2 weeks later - still "Not Pregnant". Then, after a big hormonal surge that had me yelling or crying at everything for a day I finally got a positive digital test. I was pregnant when I took the first test, but my hormone levels weren't high enough to confirm it until after my 4th week, even with a blood test. I am the proud mom of a very healthy 10 month old now! Yes, you could be pregnant. Best luck!

Yes - It looks like you are. False positives are very rare with pregnancy tests, although you can have false negatives. The reason the line is faint is due to the amount of hormone detected. It probably means that you are in the very early days of your pregnancy so there isn't as much of the hormone in your urine. Go and see a doctor, or you could wait a few days and take another test and see that line appear even stronger.

As other people said - a line is a line. First Response is actually one of the worse tests on the market and many people get positive pregnancy tests on other brands days before First Response shows and even if it shows, it stays extremely light for several days. At the same time, a false positive is pretty much unheard of on this brand, so I bet you did it. Among the tests that performed better are Walmarts tests and Accu-Clear (Target). You can get one of those and confirm and of course call your doctor to run a beta and prescribe prenatal vitamins to make sure both you and the baby are OK. Congrats :)

Yes you could be pregnant. Wait two days and try again. Your hormones just may not be high enough yet to get a dark line... even the manufacturer admits that a faint line can be a sign of a positive. Or, go to your doctor and get a blood test done, this will register a pregnancy, even if your hormone level is low. Congrats ahead of time.

You are pregnant, take another one tomorrow to watch the line get darker though-it's fun!! If you read the pamphet in the box, it will tell you that even a barely there line is a positive result!! I had bad luck with First Reponse, and really obvious fast results with EPT...try that one and see if it's the same with you. My guess is that if it's a faint line on First, that it'll be so much darker on an EPT. Congrats!

A line, no matter how faint it is, is still a line. In order for there to be a line, there must be HGC, the pregnancy hormone in your urine. If the line is faint it is probably because there isn't much of HGC in your urine. I'll bet if you test again first thing tomorrow morning you'll get a darker line. Your first pee of the day has the highest concentration of HGC because you've been sleeping all night and haven't drank anything to dilute it and you haven't urinated in several hours.

You are pregnant. Congratulations!

A line is a line is a line...is a line. :)

Usually even a very faint line indicates a positive. It sounds like you're having some early pregnancy symptoms, as well. Good luck!!!

if you can wait a week and check it again... but like the other person said a line is a line... maybe you didnt pee on it enough... also try a different brand, from a store that you know goes thru alot of them or rotates stock, it might have gotten ruined over time or by someone messing with them.
