I am fully aware of how John Ritter died...
What I want is something definitive as to how Paul Henessey died (John's character)...
I just watched for the 3rd time both pt1 & 2 of his farewell episodes (which John as Paul isn't in) and while they say Paul collapsed in Isle # 3 of the supermarket getting milk, I still did not hear anything related to why he collapsed...

I watched it yesterday on the WB channel and he died in the 3rd aisle of the grocery store while getting milk for Cate. I believe he died of either a stroke or a heartattack. That was sad :(.

Getting back to the tragic loss of John Ritter, 8 Simple Rules has dealt surprisingly well with it, but a few questions remain. Ritter's final episode found his character Paul collapsing in the local grocery store. How, I wonder, was that subject/action broached? "Could you please pretend to die just in case you actually do?" John Ritter had been feeling ill a few days earlier but the whole thing came as a shock.

PAUL WENT TO THE GROCERY STORE TO GET MILK. HIS WIFE GOT A PHONE CALL TELLING HER THAT HE COLLAPSED IN THE STORE. HE DIED OF A HEART ATTACK.
