Fairy ring...a fungi common in soils high in organic manner. To control use a nitrogen fertilizer and keep the lawn wet for 3-5 days.Aerate. As far as I know there is no chemical controls.

I used to work for Scotts the lawn care people. We frequently had this question. The problem is, Fairy Ring can be a result of dead tree and root matter from many feet deep in the ground. The way to disguise it is to fertilize a little more heavily around it and bring the green of the surrounding lawn closer to that color green. It is a symptom of a 99.9% harmless microbe.

That's Fairy not ferry, but if it's boat shaped, then you c/b right.

Pour lemon sudsy dish soap on it and water it for an hour every night for 10 nights and see what happens.

The lemon and soap kill the fungus and the water drowns spores.

Let us know what happens...I killed mind this way.
