As Christ spoke in parables, the scriptures speak in similitudes, types and shadows. Many things are symbolic rather than literal. The cold, dark void is symbolic of the way you would feel in the knowledge that you have missed the opportunity for eternal progression. The lake of fire, the brimstone, the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth, are symbolic of the inner torment of knowing where you are, having the knowledge of where you could be, eternally because you have chosen your place.

I believe hell is different for everyone. If I don't happen to make the cut and get into Heaven, I'll probably be stuck in a United States run by Barbara Streissand, Hillary Clinton and Alec Baldwin.

Hell isn't the 'lake of fireplace' because it will be thrown into the lake of fireplace to be forever destroyed in accordance to Revelation 20:14. Hell is translated from the Hebrew note 'Sheol' and the Greek note 'Hades'. It skill the grave or pit. At no time does it recommend an component to eternal torment through fireplace for persons at the same time as they die. it really is an component to useless, subconscious, no longer living human souls, or persons. those in the grave or hell will be resurrected only as Jesus become resurrected after his lack of existence. He stated it himself at John 5:28 & 29. He also stated an section observed as Gehenna, a valley outside the walls of Jerusalem the position useless bodies were forged to be ate up through the dogs and fires were the following saved burning to devour the garbage of the city. It become fairly actually a lake of fireplace and sulfur used to spoil continually what become thrown into it. at the same time as Revelation speaks of lack of existence and hell (Hades) being forged into the lake of fireplace (Gehenna) it skill they are going to be thoroughly and continually destroyed. So will anybody who refuses to settle for God's Sovereignty consisting of devil and his demons. they are going to be destroyed continually without wish of a resurrection.

It was believed that Hell was a cold place, mainly because it was farthest from the light and warmth of Heaven. Upon the release of "Dante's Inferno", however, it became popular belief that it was unbearably hot. I guess we'll never know, though, since anyone who's there probably can't tell us now. :)

Well that depends on your version, Dante's or the Bible's. Personally I fear something darker than either description, 24 hours non-stop of the view.
