Every retail store has a staff of Store Detectives. They do not hire private contractors, that I have ever known. They do, however, use outside services for blind shoppers. Some only for
rating service, store layout and other factors.
There are companies that furnish shoppers for retailers in order to discover dishonest employees. I will not post here how that is done.
Check with retail stores, mostly large ones. They will expect experience.

Inquire at the upper end stores in your area.(not sears)
