i got a yahoo account and would like to use outlook express to send and recieve my mail

I won't explain the process since it's been outlined already.. twice. I do have a recommendation, though. Use Thunderbird instead of Outlook. It's a million times better. Just my 2 cents. God luck!!

You need to activate pop 3 service on your mail. It was free 2 years ago by yahoo but now they charge for that. You need to subscribe to yahoo plus account in order to access it from outlook express. To upgrade your subscription you need to logon to yahoo mail and then click options to upgrade subscription. If you want to see the settings then you can click help on yahoo mail and then type pop3 mail account to seek detailed help.

Yahoo! Mail users can read their email in Outlook Express by subscribing to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. This service allows you to use Outlook Express or another POP3 client to access and manage your Yahoo! Mail messages.
If you are a Mail Plus user, then follow the directions outlined below:
Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages. Here's how:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."
Under "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3."
Type "pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
Type "smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.

If your ISP blocks port 25 or if you're unable to send email, then you will need to use port 587 when sending via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. To make this change, please follow the directions below:

Click on the "Advanced" tab
Next to "Outgoing server (SMTP), change port 25 to 587

Save your money don't upgrade like they are telling you. What you do is make sure that you have the regular yahoo email not the Beta. If you got Beta switch back to regular then download ypops follow directions easy
