Personally, I like to know what the person I am talking to looks like.
Not in a judgemental way or anything, just out of curiosity

Well if you were good friends with the person and you have talking to that person alot then yes I would like see what they looked like, but when it is just to anwser questions then no it is okay to use your avatar pic. Good pic, by the way.

I prefer the pictures, so you see that you are really talking to a real person not to a computer image.

I know it may sound lame but My avatar looks like me. I show my picture to my friends. Every one agrees that the avatar is not far from reality.

Real pictures are cool if the person isn't monstrously ugly but I prefer avatars.

It doesn't matter to me. Some people (like me) are without the equipment needed to post a real picture of themselves online.
