Well, Studies have shown that life started with a single cell organism. This was figured by the adaptation that they grew to multiple cellular which were mammals. So the correct answer would be "The chicken came before the egg.

That's easy-- It's the chicken. Because GOD created us and ALL the animals.
Each individual species has it's own way of procreation, i.e., each unto it's own kind. So, Chickens 'procreate', lay eggs and chicks then come from the eggs after the hen sits on them for a certain length of time.

Whether you believe in Creationism or Evolution, it ends up being the Chicken.
1. evolution, the chickens evolved form earlier forms, therefore the first thing would bethe true chicken
2. god, god created the chickens first, so then they would have to reproduct to have more chickens. If he had made an egg there wouldn't have been anythig to care for it.
