Kington is the smallest parish what you will see is actually St. Andrew. Formally called the Corparate Area (Kingston and St. Andrew) but popularly called Kingston.

Kingston is NOT the typical tourist destination but it does have many advantages. The first being its cheaper than the more popular destinations and persons are not very hands on with tourists.

New Kingston boasts Emancipation Park, Nightclubs, many play houses (theatres) many restaurants catering to a wide range of tastes, a mini golf course.

Kingston has The University of the West indies, two movie thetres and a new gaming lounge (Acropolis) . You can also visit Revolutionary Gallery which offers ceramics, sculpture, textiles, jewellery, prints and photographs by Jamaica's leading artists. The Bob Marley Museum, Devon House, Hope (Botanical) Gardens and Marcus Garvey's home are also interesting places. There is Isabel;es Day Spa and the world reknow Jencare Skin Farm.

Down town Kingston has the Ward theatre and many historical buildings. "Downtown Kingston is a bustling business district with busy roadways and crowded sidewalks. Walking along its streets you may witness the vibrancy, brashness and unpredictability of our urban lifestyle."

The beaches of Kingston are not horrible and though Kingston Harbour is dirty it is the &th largest natural harbour in the world. Port Royal- once the "Most Wicked City in the World" is always worth a visit- wIth its many beaches and rich history.

There at least five forts there with canons in place. It also has the Giddy House formerly the old Royal Artillery Store for the Victoria Battery. The earthquake of 1907 shifted the structure to its present angle. Think of it as our version of the leaning Tower of Piza.

The hills of St. Andrew offer nature walks, hikes (Blue Mountain) and more botanical gardens (Castleton and Hollywell) AND strawberry Hills resort and Aveda spa. And the Blue Mountain Coffee Factory Tour.

St. Catherine the next parish over has Caymanas Race track as well other fun places.

You can do walking tours of both downtown Kingston and Port Royal

If Kingston does not suit your fancy or you want to venture out while staying in Kinston go to Ocho Rios its a short distance from Kingston and you travel through Fern Gully- a lush garden with a very thick canopy of trees in some places you cant see the sky. Lovely wooden crafts are sold there as well.

If not Montego Bay, Negril and Port Antonio all have much to offer so drive down for the day to one or all.

JW what are you talking about you sure it's Kingston, Jamaica West Indies. Where is the largest and most expensive mall? Ochi is NOT 3 and 1/2 hours away from Kingston Montego Bay is. The odds of being caught in the crossfire of a turf war is very low. We have high rise buildings NOT skyscrapers. There ARE beach resorts in Kingston Morgans Harbour Hotel (port Royal). Your last line is PRICELESS

Kingston is NOT recommended for Tourists. It has a high crime rate and it's very unsafe. Unless you are going there to stay with Family or Friends in which case they should know where to take you. The beaches are really horrible in Kingston. Unless you enjoy black sand, fishermen gawking at you, being robbed, and a very dirty environment then avoid Kingston. New Kingston is nice but very commercialized with sky scrapers -one of the largest but most outrageously expensive malls you can imagine, and the prices are for the rich and Business Travellers. You will have swimming pools but don't expect to find a Resort with a Beach there -unless it's pretty new and I don't know about it. My advice is go to Ocho Rios. It's about Three and a half hours drive from Kingston. Kingston however has an amazing nightlife and the best nightclubs anywhere. So this all depends on what you want. Don't walk around DownTown Kingston though. Always drive or take a cab. It's very dangerous -in case you don't know-Kingston is now the Murder Capital of the World-with more murders per capita than even Detroit, Michigan now. Although most of it is gang on gang -the odds of being caught in the crossfires is very high. Almost all my Family moved to the States and left beautiful properties abandoned just to get out.

Crime rampant and illegal drugs everywhere. So many wiith HIV.... The country is poor and the people are so rude to tourists! Now, I go anywhere in ASIA where the people are 10 times more friendlier and get plenty of neatual beauty and non-crime
