I think you mean a polygon, not a pentagon. A pentagon has 5 sides. A polygon has any number of sides. Polygons with 12 or fewer sides have names. After that, you just call it an n-gon. In the case of your 47-sided figure, it would be a 47-gon (pronounced "forty-seven-gon").

If it has 47 sides, it's not a pentagon. Pentagons have five sides by definition. It comes from the Greek "penta" meaning five and "gon" meaning side or angle.

"Polygon" means "many sides" and is the generic term for plane figures with straight sides.

There's probably a fancy name derived from the Greek for "forty-seven", (sarantaeptagon is my guess based on a website on greek counting numbers) but I'd just call it a "47-sided polygon".

A 47 sided POLYGON exists, but not a 47 sided pentagon!

A pentagon can only ever have five sides.
A shape with 47 sides would be a quaddecasepthedron ( pronounced : quad-deca-sept-hedron). Quad = 4 deca = 10, sept = 7 and hedron means shape.
