It can be "cured" as you put it or dealt with may be a better phrase.
You don;t nee pills that screw up your neurochemical balance, you body should be able to do it s job properly. You need to tackle the issues that brought you to this stage.
Go down the Cognitive behavioural route, or NLP to be specific. I personally know of many people who have tackled depression "for good" in just a few sessions alone. Not one pharmaceutical in sight!
Good luck, I hope you find the answer you are looking for. The real change comes from within, you have all the resources you need to have this out of your life. NLP will get you to a stage where you can actually put this into practice.
wishing you the best

5HTP combined with st johns wort liquid form. Buy from health food shop.
Exercise regulary.
Forget about nhs doctors pills. Doctors have enough holidays.
What did your ancestors 200 years ago do when they felt down??
Modern day modern stress.
It is all in the mind.
Third eye stress.
Don't except this modern day lifestyle. Make your own as it is not working for you.
Remember, you come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing.
The fancy material goods end up in a landfill.
Feed your spirit not someone elses bank balance.
Be simple it is easier.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change,
Courage to change the things I can,
Wisdom to know the difference.
Allow your brain to find it's own chemistry.
Don't meddle with the nhs drugs as your only being experimented on anyway. Someone is making a lot of money from thoses tablets.
Eat fish. Run and watch Laurel and Hardy. (Not at the same time)
This is all a big test and God is watching how we do.
Don't be depressed be angry. Run and watch Laurel and Hardy again!

Hi
There are many ways to help you to combat your depression
First you have to pinpoint why and how you began to feel this way believe me this will help you!!!
I tend not to encourage people to take anti-depressants as from my own experience only mass your problems and when your ready to come off tablets your depression will still be there
My cure was Cognitive Therapy, family and friend support and time!!!!!!
Hope you can combat your feelings and the world starts to look a little bit brighter for you

Ask your doctor to refer you for a course of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I battled with depression for twenty years, and had such bad post-natal depression i attempted suicide more than once, the anti-depressants didn't work, nothing did. I had six sessions of CBT and it has changed my life. I looks at your thought patterns and behaviour and how it affects you, and how to change it. I still sometimes get down, but its not that black, all-consuming, terrifying depression I used to get. It has worked wonders in other areas of my life too, and I am happier than I have ever been and really enjoying life, no longer afraid to be happy because sooner or later the crash will come. I know I may wobble sometimes, but I won't crash anymore. I really recommend it. If your GP won't refer you, change doctors. Forget the tablets though, they are a short term fix only.

Treat the symptoms and you treat the desease, so take a shower, clean your room, your bathroom and the kitchen, put on a clean shirt, call up some friends and get out of the house. If you are broke, get a job or figure out how to make some money. If your love life sucks, you should work on that too.

i dont think you can cure it but i suppose it depends on what type of depression you have. try a natural herb called "st johns wort" its known to be very effective and its without the side effects of clinical drugs. you can buy it cheap on ebay, get the 500mg one, if that doesnt work then go to your doctor and he will help find a way of controlling it.

You have to keep your chin up and try to see the bright side of everything. Tell yourself there are people worse off than yourself. It can be a long road to recovery but if you believe in yourself you CAN beat it. Dont stay in, go out, see friends or family. You can do it!!
