What do you think about the Bush administration reading people's email and listening to their phone calls?

honestly, I have nothing to hide. I just would rather keep my emails to myself, and conversations private, especially when they're a complaint about the government. lol

They are not sitting around reading emails from the average American...they are gathering information on suspected terrorists....

Well, considering that you can be arrested for merely having a conversation about terrorist activity or for just looking Muslim (and that's been happening more and more), the scariest thing about the invasion of privacy is that the expiration of this legislation is an unfathomable date. "Until we have won the war on terror." Well shite, that is a never-ending war! Who can know when the last terrorist has been stopped? HA! Noone can, especially when the US can train new ones and release them upon society, to blow up innocent people. If you don't think that's happened, you really should consider opening your eyes and ears. The men who flew those planes on 9/11 learned how to fly in the US.
Virtually all rebel or geurilla warfare is funded, manned and directed by the White House.
In essence, get used to everything you do and say being documented and possibly used against you. Land of the free my ****. Makes me wonder when I'll get a visit from the men in the black Ford Exploders.

I feel sorry for them if their listening to my phone calls. I may get an invitation to the White House if they read my emails. If you've got nothing to hide, what's the problem? I believe they are not reading or listening to everyone's stuff. Maybe if this had been done earlier, 9/11 wouldn't have happened.

OK Bush or any one has the time to look or lessen to the billion of email and calls each day. Get a grip and stop lessening to the bull.
Use the Brain you have . This is just the Dem hate and lies.

Do not get a big head .

its not right. its a violation of our right to privacy. if they're worried about finding terrorists, they should have put more time and effort into finding bin Laden. i mean, hes the terrorist right? not me.

however, i am part of a politically active group, call TBR(to begin rebellion) and we're dedicated to tearing down the lies of our government. so by reading our emails, and tapping our phone lines, well....atleast we're being heard, right?

and do be so ignorant. they're reading your emails. and if you go to a public school, they've already given you name, phone number, address, etc. to military recruiters. its one of the largest databases in the world.

and dont get me started on "well bush wasnt the first to lie, so BLAH BLAH BLAH". yeah? no ****, i thought every president was ******* honest abe lincoln. its just that Bush is in office now, and the attrocities he's commiting are far worse that any one weve seen in office since, well..since nixon.

When Clinton Lied, No One Died.

And dont pass the "I have nothing to Hide!" bullshit. neither do i. thats not the point. the point is that the GOVERNMENT IS BREAKING THE LAW. Not me. if you lose your freedom of privacy, what next? your freedom of speech? well you can wave that good by, as congress is trying to ban flag desicration (burning...), which you clearly have the right to do in the first ammendment as freedom of speech, as a means of protest for disagreeing with the current administration.

And, when our leaders pass laws like this they give them clever names like "The Pariot Act", so when voting comes no one votes against it, otherwise they're labeled as unpatriotic, or a traitor.

Dont give in to them. Fight for your freedom.

I would rather be safe than worry about my email or cell phones numbers. They did not read any ones email unless they had court order. That is part of the conspiracy thing.
They did not listen to phone calls, they got a list of numbers that you called or that called you, the cell phone companies gave them up without any fight or court order. No one should have a problem with it unless you are trying to hide who you are talking with.

Only people with something to hide, criminals, mafia, islamic radicals would even care if the government is listening.
I could care less if Johnnie FBI knew that I just ended a call with someone by telling them I had to take a dump. Big deal.

Does not happen as you posed the question, the phone calls are directed to monitoring contact with terrorist organizations not average Americans. The part on E-mail i can attest to because they read mine when i send them to the White House and the President, i know because they answer them, not always to my liking. however they do read them but only under that circumstance.

They've done it since the invention of the internet and the phone. No one should be surprised.

p.s. this isn't the first law George W. Bush has broken. Nor will it be his last!
