the talent is in the song writing, that is the lyrics (which you obviously aren't too fond of) and the instrumental. I don't think this is a fair generalization at all. Not all rock is yelling or screaming, most of it is relatable. Id say your the dumb *** if you think there is no talent in rock music, i think it requires the most talent. Rap music usually has no instrument to worry about its just rhyming and basic beats. Pop music isn't talent at all because they don't write anything they just sing, anyone can sing. Country could be talent, if they write there own stuff, but some don't. If its a question of talent then rock music has the most. I don't think you have even listened to very much rock, because you obviously don't know what the hell your talking about. I thin you should give rock a chance before you open your mouth ( er type i guess).
try listening to Shinedown or three Days Grace or Red Hot chili Peppers. they make music that makes you feel like your a part of something, they make music that you relate to, and i dont see how anyone could hate all three of those bands.

You know I do not agrre with you at all!!!
Where did all the talent go? It went to my ears the same with all the rock that is produced today!!!
Now tell me one thing..... If your complaining about "dumbasses yell and complain about there life". Then tell me what if there is a band yelling for no reason and I pay $14.99 for the CD is there something wrong with that?
And I can't believe someone would say that when Green Day is rockin out being the best band there is and there still around and some of there songs got them complaining about life because who can't help but complain? There is always something to complain about like you were for instence and me for complainin back................ I THINK YOUR WRONG!!!
Sorry!!!

I could type a long response to you explaining the great diversity of "rock" musical styles, explaining you how most of the music that we hear today has been strongly influenced by or even derived from, rock music, explaining to you how the topics of rock songs are varied, some meaningful and some not, and not only comprising "dumbasses that yell and complain", I could explain a lot to you, from the influence of Pink Floyd and the technological and artistic advances they brought with their sound-editing, or the political changes that some rock bands can accompany by being the voices of movements that otherwise could not be heard, but why bother?
It's obvious to me that you are nothing more than a close-minded retard. If you really cared about having a serious opinion on a musical style, you would try to listen a bit of it before parroting like a judgamental dolt.
I used to hate "electronic music" until I begun hearing a bit of it and realizing that it's not all the same thing. The same with jazz, or classical music.
If you have never actually sat down to hear the music style, then don't bother critizing it, because you are not familiar with it.
I hate rap with every ounce of strenght in my body, for example, but I admit that those who create that music can be very talented. I don't mind those who like it, and I respect the artists. Art is art, the higher person learns to respect those things that he likes and those that he dislikes too.
There can be talented musicians in every musical style, and untalented dumbasses too. "Talent" does not depend on the musical style.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_and_roll ----> Try to do some listening or reading before opening your mouth.
PS: I do agree with you that CDs are way too expensive. That's because the record companies are behind the artists, using them to take away our money without doing anything themselves.
Smart people don't pay for expensive CDs.

The talent is how the music is played. Listen to the guitars or guitar solos. Playing a gutiar is not so easy and if you hear the guitar you can see how talented the person is. for example ray toro from my chemical romance have some really cool solos. Not all rockers complain about their life. Some rockers have great voice like Patrick Stump, gerard way and Billy jo armstrong. There are so many different kind of rock. You probably listen to metal. May i recommend punk or even pop punk. I pay 14.99$ because I wants to hear thier reall life story. Listen to the "ghost of you", helena, and "demolition lover" from My chemical romance. "Xo", "grand theft autunm" and "dance, dance" from fall out boy . Rock music is so down to earth. You don't have to like the music but just respect others who like it and play it. I suppose you like rap and you don't hear me bad mouth it,so don't talk sh*t about rock because you don't understand it.

In the era of hit single oriented music (vs. album oriented music), it's hard to find anything out there that doesn't involve simplistic lyrics with a catchy hook.
If you want to listen to talented rock bands, check out:
Rush
---------
Screechy vocals but sophisticated lyrics and talented instrumentals. Influenced a lot of 80's and 90's bands.
Dream Theater
--------------------
Sound like 80's hair band with a more Metal edge but every musician is unbelievably good. Band formed at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Tool
----------
Yes lyrics are dark but they are well-written and the band has talented musicians
Primus
-----------
Goofy but talented. Les is a great bass player.
There's a lot more bands out there, just need to check them out.

All you need to do, my friend, is pick up a Led Zeppelin album, and you will see all the talent you need.
It really depends on which era or genre of rock we're talking about here.

The same reason why people spend that amount of money on a person rhyming about their life. Except Rap tends to degrade women.

Well there isn't anyone talented like Led Zeppelin or The Beatles or many more that I could name. I like the classic stuff because it's better and got more soul.
