slavery!!!!!!!!!?

I've noticed that a hot topic here is slavery! There's alot of ideas about white guys running around with thier guns enslaving poor innocent villagers.. not true... it was called the slave trade.. TRADE.. slaves where sold, by other tribes, it was a business, the arabs had been doing it far longer than anyone from the west, and they where far harsher, any comments??

don't confuse the slave trade with slavery, slavery is where someone owns a person, for work etc. The slave trade is trading a slave for something esle.

because if you want the slave trade your question should read:

Slave Trade!!!!!!!!!? and not Slavery!!!!!!!!?

It is more about the length of time that the black people were enslaved and the fact that is hindered their race and only their race for decades and to this day there is still racism as a result. Be it trade or not it was wrong, even if there were harsher circumstances elsewhere.... it was harsh enough. It killed, maimed, disabled, and broke down so many people for no reason. It didn't only hinder the black people but this entire nation. We still can't seem to get along because of slavery! Because someone thought that it was a fair trade so they were all less than people. The villagers were innocent. They did not ask to be enslaved! They were taken from their homes...not only by the white men no, but for the years after they were taken it was ALL the white peoples doing.

We need to remember that many people were enslaved throughout the world. Native South Americans were enslaved by Spaniards and slavery there ended AFTER it did here in America.

Your right about it being a trade. Also this one was more recent. I bet there where people back then yelling about it too.

But no one told then to also steal a counrty, kill thousands of innocent Native Americans, discriminate against basically anyone who wasnt a white male protesatant, start groups like the KKK, write laws to keep "other" immigrants from entering the US (like the japenese) even though they where immigrants and children of immigrants, and i can go on forever.

Reality is that this one was more recent. Thats why people talk about it.

I have a comment: learn how to spell. there is a difference between 'where' and 'were', 'alot' is ALWAYS two words, 'a lot', 'thier' is spelled 'their'.

Kind of hard to make an intellectual argument when you spell like ****.
