For the simple reason that life is governed by the irreversible and reproachable edicts found in the the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (AKA: entropy) and its corresponding corollaries found in Murphy's Law.

In my opinion the world is more difficult due to the minds of some people who put themselves first sitting at the top of the list instead of thinking of others. They are selfish, their goals are not in giving but getting. Power hungry thoughts, get rich quick schemes. Anything connected with materialism. Forgetting spirituality leaves people empty. Multiply this by these people who populate the world and this spells trouble.

It's not.
You've heard the saying, "Life is what you make it." Well that's true. Some people seem to go out of their way to make their lives miserable and difficult. The bottom line is that YOU are responsible for whether you're miserable or not. So if you're finding life difficult, change things.

We live in a world of difficult people & society's expectations of others. We live in a world racism, prejudice, poverty, and violence. I think it's what the FCC sends over the air waves via television, radio, cable, internet, etc... that glamorizes sex, violence and drugs. With that, our focus should be on helping others and doing what is right, regardless of where "this world" stands. Life is no more difficult than what we make it...

Because we create expectations all the time. The only reason why life is difficult is because we didn't expect it to be difficult, we expected something else. Thus, we focus on this difficult aspect of things. It is important to ride yourself of expectation (some say desire) and just experience. If you don't expect anything, you'll always be given differentness, uniquenesses, weird things, and thats where life really starts, is at the weird.

It is not a question of difficulty living in the world. It is how difficult you choose to live in your world. Action and Reaction.

God's original intention for man was to live forever in peaceful conditions. But, man had to be obedient to God by not eating from the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden. Man was told that in the day that he eats from the fruit of the tree he would die. Satan the devil told Adam that he would not die, and that he would be just like God knowing good from evil. There was the first lie. Adam and Eve both disobeyed God by eating of the fruit, which in turn showed that they were deciding to be independent of Gods rulership. Thus, Satan was challenging God's right to sovereignty. Because humans were created with free will, Adam and Eve chose to disobey. By obeying God and his principles we can live a happy life. Today though, we live in a world ruled by Satan and not by God. What are Gods standards, you can ask yourself? What standards does Satan have, and what qualities does he display in the world today? Are they beneficial to us today, or should we look towards the Almighty Creator who knows everything about us?

It is not difficult to live "in the world." Sometimes it is difficult to deal with problems faced while we live in the world. *smile*
Lots of advice can be offered and people who care for you can lighten the burdens you carry---if you ask.
My suggestion for keeping your perspective on the difficulty of life is to get outside yourself. Connect with other people, in kind and generous ways. Random acts of kindness...really are good medicine.
God bless you.

From a religious point of view, we have a clue from the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. I like to think our journey is like dealing with gravity. The 'natural' position' is 'fallen' or on the ground, but we learn how to crawl, then walk, and so overcome gravity with our muscles' development. So our spiritual gravity, our 'natural position', is our self seeking, so we need to seek the 'other' outside of ourself, family, friends, society at large, and ultimately The Other, Our Creator. So our difficulty is to constantly have to fight our own self-seeking to think and act for the good of the people around, or the planet. So we constantly need to conquer ourselves, 'fight the good fight' to win the 'race' that will win our soul's reward. Discipline is another relevant word, but better understood in terms of being 'a disciple' or following a master or teacher who helps you win the 'race' of life.
