Basically, I like any song that I can play on my guitar with a few chords...simple songs like older green day and ramones.

I think that today's music is nothing compared to the great music that was made in the 70's/80's, that is so good that today's youth are listening to the classic rock bands.

OK well then do you consider Motley Crue DEPTH? How about Guns N` Roses? KISS? Areosmith? Iggy Pop? The Ramones? The Clash? well I don't think any of them have depth!!! Todays music has more BI-POLOR acts but I'll names some bands with depth!!! Green Day, System of a Down, Disturbed just to name a few!!!

Sorry I went off like this but you just offended my type of music.

I agree with you on a lot of levels. I think the overproduction is the killer. Plus the songwriting is not done by the artist either. There is not a lot of depth or true feeling to the music. But to stay on a label and to be able to quit your day job, you have to make music for the masses. Low-fi is making a comeback due to the backlash of overproduction.

I'm not too much into music, but maybe that's what all generations say about the next generation's music: "nowadays' youth listens this rock&roll crap, it's noisy and not pleasant, I think the old classic blues is much better" (back in the 50's)... well, that's what I think....

Yes, that 70's - 80's stuff has stood the test of time. So much of it, especially the 70's was awesome. The other day, someone over 30's younger then me, borrowed some of my CDs.

Too cool

absolutely...it seems that ALL music today is pretty lame compared with what came before...and here it was, I thought I was the only one who felt this way...anyways, you can't go wrong with Foghat, Springsteen, J Geils Band, Zepplin...oh the list is endless...gotta go play some 8-tracks now!!!
