Jump in your time machine to June 29, 1976 and grab a copy of the SF Chronicle. You should be able to find cheap apartments there. In the sports section you'll see that the Astros beat the Giants 8 - 2 the night before.

Good Luck! SF is not cheap. Your best bet would be if you had a freind that wanted to cut you a deal, otehr wise nothing is cheap in SF. You get what you pay for.

Go to the newstand, find an out of town paper, and look in there.
San Fran is not cheap.
