I think I have read too far into all the pregnancy books that I ran to the bookstore to purchase the DAY I found out I was pegnant. They really got me worried about whether I have one of the difficulties they discuss. I don't even see the doc for the first time until July 11th and I am completely paranoid that there may be something wrong. What should I do?

I've been pregnant twice and my first advice is not to read a lot. The first book I tried to read it was about mental diseases, so I closed the book and decided not to read anything more. Books use to explain the worst problems you can have but normaly nothing happens.
If you're 6-7 weeks you are beginning to feel the first syntoms: you feel more tired, maybe you need to sleep more hours, your stomach seems to be a wash machine, ... All these feelings are usual. Your body has to work a lot for the new guest, so don't worry. Maybe try to see your doctor before, this way all your fears will disapear.

Don't worry about it, hon. Sounds like you are wrought with anxiety. I suggest that the "pain" you feel in your "ovary area" is really just your stomach tied in knots over something wrong happening to you or your baby. Relax. Listen to some women who have already been through what you've been through.

Most woman are uneasy, even paranoid about their first pregnancy experience. It's normal, but it's not good for you. At this point, the baby is not heavy enough to put pressure anywhere, or anything like that.

And, of course, if you can't relax or you feel like you really need professional reassurance, don't hesitate any longer to go to your doctor. Your ob-gyn is there for you, and a good one will tell you to call for reassurance, no matter what.

When you are pregnant your body is going through many changes, including stretching. Your body is making room for a baby, don't worry about every little ache and pain, your uterus is probably stretching. When I was pg with my daughter, I thought I was just late and didn't know i was pg, (I was having pains that I thought were cramps) well the doc said I was probably stretching. just enjoy being pregnant, it's a great experience.
Also, not to worry you, but if there is something wrong this early in your pregnancy, there is probably nothing the doctor can do, but seeing him for peace of mind is a good idea.

YOu already know the answer you are beign paranoid! You are going to expereince SOOOOO many odd aches and pains during the next 8 months and if you over act to every one you are going to be so mentally exhausted by the time your baby gets here. YOu have to undersatnd that the books are reporting cases that arent typical to everyone, they are just telling you of possibilities. Most doctors dont even want you to look at those books for this very reason! Stick to "What to expect when you are expecting"

you could have a cyst on an overy. THAT IS COMMON. cysts disolve over time but they DO cause some pain... like needles sometimes... or sometimes throbing. every month you only release eggs from one overy, HOWEVER, in an ultrasound you can see eggs DEVELOPING in both overies. eggs take time to develope. since you are pregnant and obviously won't be ovulating any more the eggs that WERE developing COULD turn into cysts... but as i said they do disolve and it would be VERY RARE for it to harm your pregnancy in any way. BUT, if you are EVER worried about anything during pregnancy your doctor EXPECTS a phone call. i would rather pester my doctor with something than have undue stress over something that is MORE THAN LIKELY nothing at all. stress can effect your pregnancy... please don't stress. if it's bothering you a lot tonight and you can't get ahold of your doctor, go to your local hospital... they usually have a clinic that runs in their emergency departments... they just don't advertise that! good luck to you and your wee little one!

4 things this could be
1- a harmless cyst that occurs in the ovary that the pregnancy started
2- an ectopic pregnacy (not so good)
3- a urine infection -painful to pee?
4- typical anxiety with nothing at the root of it.

Probably worth checking if it doesn't settle---best of luck.

With dull pain you should be ok...but if you have any bleeding, or intense pain you so go to the hospital immediatly but all women worry about thier pregnancies. Easier said than done, but try not to worry.

The baby may be on a nerve. But your doctor should have you get an ultrasound to ensure that it is not ectopic, thats is a primary concern with pain in that area.

It is normal, this sensation comes from your body changing... You will pee a lot because of that, but this is part of the evolution of the marvellous experience you are living now. Try to enjoy it at maximum it will end up before you think of!

probably not a cause for concern. I experienced it too. to be on the safe side, mention it to your doctor next time you see him/her. good luck with the pregnancy!

Oh and in response to Brittanie, green tea is actually harmful when you're pregnant. chamomile is better.
