A life dream is what it is, a dream. You have been woke up from what you believed would and or was to take place. But now take time and make three goals related to one another. First a goal for today that you will carry on with you for life, Next a goal you want to achieve in the next 5 to 10 years call it your mid term goal. The your long term goal, this will take you 10 to endless years to accomplish. but gives you guidance to the end result.

Writing what your dream had been, and what 'fell apart' could be a start, probably seeing how you're 'feeling' and if you've felt like that before, just to understand if possible. Then maybe to list what you still have of 'your dream' even if nothing but a memory, but also the gifts of the moment like within yourself, around you, ... and then what your new dream will be? And don't be afraid to 'dream big' and see yourself in your dream everyday, maybe 5 minutes 3 times a day for a month. Then you have a habit that can help you rise above the present 'setback', and maybe discover your dream was a 'caterpillar' that is now turning into a 'butterfly', and the 'falling apart' was maybe the best thing that could have happened, but it does take time to get there, so be good to yourself at this time of great change, your own 'best friend' if necessary. Life is an adventure, so enjoy, even so.

This has happened in my case. I called it "the dark night of the soul". After the mourning period, I had to pick up the pieces and trudge through those awful times and it wasn't easy. I was raising my two daughters (luckily their Dad isn't a bum) and I felt like I was falling apart at the same time. One night it got so bad that I called the psychology hotline just to talk to someone. The guy asked me I could call back in an hour because it was lunchtime. To me, that was a sign that even though I lost everything, I wasn't losing my mind. I had to stay as stable as possible for the kids sake. And I never let them down. They love me, no matter what. It wasn't drugs or anything like that. My home was robbed by the neighbors. They took my rent money and my car. They wrecked the car half a block from where I lived. I won't prattle on, but I had to keep functioning for the kids. I just had to. Eventually, bit by bit things came around. Now, I have dreams that seem real and I have a new husband in a new state. I just was shuffling one foot in front of the other, for awhile.

Pray for answers and open windows.
As the line from Sound of Music goes, "When God closes a door he opens a window."
Don't look at your life dream falling apart as the end. Look at it as detour. The new road still holds adventures and may only take a short time to reveal its opportunities and jewels.

When in doubt, punt. Dreams can get confused with their potential realities. For instance I wanted to be a teacher. After having spent nearely 3 years in college I did my 3 days of classroom observation and realized that I didn't have the patience that needed to deal with the twisted offspring of my peers. So I now work to pay my bills. I found a nice place on a lake and I adopted a dog. I work only so I can afford my little slice of paradise.

Your life dream never falls apart. You can always do what you want to do. Nothing is stopping you but yourself.

I would say that it wasn't your dream if you allowed it to fall apart or if you gave up on it. True dreamers find away to make their dreams happen. Don't give up on the dream you perceive to have fallen apart.

Enjoy the rest of the dream (which always seems better than what I originally dreamed about.)

I would get down on my knees thank God for the ability to even have dreams and ask Him for the Love, Strength, and Energy to start over from scratch.
