We have shrubs and trees and some people do have lawns. If you want to feel the grass between your toes go to one of the many parks in town. Having to mow the lawn is overrated. I've lived in Europe, the midwest and the southwest. While Tucson is not my most favorite place to be, I prefer it to Omaha, Nebraska. You'll learn how to do things early in the morning or later in the afternoon. Just make sure you get a place with air conditioning, not just a swamp cooler or your will certainly be miserable once the monsoon kicks in.

I live in what a few years ago was just desert. its really hot. but at night it cools down alot. and if you have a nice view or a cool place to hang out and party it gets better. and you can still have a lawn. but it'll be all brown.

That's not true, there are alot of homes w/lawns and trees.
Tucson is a beautiful city, I spend alot of time there visiting my son. You can even see snow in the winter atop Mt. Lemon. Don't be negative about it give it a chance, I love it there and hope you will too.

The desert is something most people either love or hate.....there's usually no middle ground.....I just happen to love living in the desert.

You may never get used to the heat, but it's so nice there, you'll fall in love with it.
