Yes it starts in late june and last until mid Sept or later.

What part N. or S. ? You do know that S. CA. has 2 major deserts, the Mojave, and the Sonoran. Both can easily reach 120's between May and Oct. The Coastal region is cooler but still in the 100's. I really do not know much about the N. but it has the same climate as oregon and it mostly forrest.

It depends on the year. This year we had a long winter (thank God) but then we only had, like, a week of spring. Now we're setting temperature records. I'd say that it starts to warm up just before the end of the school year, but it suddenly gets hot halfway through June.
