Smoking pot gives a boost of THC to the brain, leading to the usual 'stoned' attributes. The problem is that the body sees this increase and compensates by producing less of the body's natural "feel-good" hormones. The more you smoke, the lower you get on your down-time, the more you need to smoke to feel 'normal'. Don't mess with those hormones - even smoking tobacco leaves a genetic scar - what do you think smoking pot will do to you in the long run?

Well, first off nearly everyone experiences a different high when they've been toking. Sure, there are similarities, but since every body and psyche is different, the effects are different. There are all kinds of weed, too, so that is another variable.

I had a friend who would smoke it when her house was dirty, because it would give her energy and an attention to detail that really made her house sparkle.

Some people just get headaches, and some just get sleepy. Some giggle their fool brains out, some become certain that no one could possibly understand the awesome thoughts they're thinking, so they sit and never say a word. Others get all philosophical - still others get paranoid. Some hallucinate.

So who knows which of these things translates as a desirable feeling to any particular person? Maybe its the distraction from their problems in the "real" world, maybe its a general feeling of "all is well."

So, while I do believe that addiction is a conscious desire with pot, everyone's reasons for following that course are entirely different. Some folks may not care that much at all, but because they CAN and because its ILLEGAL, they're going to do it.

Don't generalize, as head numbness is not the most common reaction to pot. And yes, I'd say the conscious decision for addiction to marijuana is the way it makes a person feel.

I used to smoke pot a bit but I don't anymore. I think that the main reason why I did was becasue all of my friends were, also because it makes me laugh and it feels really good to eat icecream and chocolate when you are stonned.

Chaos? You are either allergic to pot or smoked stuff that was sprayed with bug spray.

Or, most likely, you never smoked it and have no idea what you are talking about.

I dissagree that pot is addictive due to the chemicals. however I would say that yes, people are addicted to how they feel. the euphoric state. Numness is what theyh aim for

The answer is bascially just the feeling of being high. It's not an addiction or a feen, it's a choice, and a lifestyle,

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) but some say its not an addictive substance (which I believe) it is the effects of euphoria that is the addictive state.
