Take a deep breath.

As you lower your head under the water, slowly blow out through your nose. With practice, you will learn to do this very slowly or in short puffs to make your breath last longer.

Good Luck!

you are breathing in through your nose. make bubbles come out of your nose while underwater, like blowing your nose. same thing, actually. not an embarrassing question at all. also try holding your nose if that doesn't work. you can practice in the bath or a sink, if you want.

My friend had huge problems with this and she has been swimming for over 5yrs. She learned not to get water up her nose by using a nose clip and then taking it out for a couple minutes each practice, your just going through a phase.

Hi, good luck with you swimming. Try wearing a nose plug. Breath through your mouth.

Think of your nose like a straw in a drink. If you keep pressure in the straw, water won't come in because it's a closed system. Experiment with a straw (using your mouth preferably ;P) then just put it to use in water. It may take a little to get used to because your body may automatically panic, so go slowly, and make sure you don't drown.

if you are swimming competitively, then you have to constantly breath out of your nose while swimming especially while doing flip turns. If this is difficult at first, it becomes a habit if you just keep doing it and you will constantly breath out your nose without thinking about it after awhile.

if you are just recreationally swimming, then it would be easiest to buy a nose clip to wear while you swim

What you have to do is blow bubbles threw your nose or at least slowly breath out threw your nose. It will work to keep the water out.

Blow out your nose with your mouth closed, this will make bubbles come out your nose keeping water out.

don't turn upside down. if you hold your breath and stay right-way-up, no water will get up your nose. there is no need to be upside down. if you DO go upside down in the water, just blow out of your nose to prevent water getting in.
