Many factors......it would depend on how old the student is.....how the F word was used.....EXAMPLE: F off --- yes, get the F out of here ----yes ----or Oh F! why did I drop that? (in a H.S. Biology lab) no.

No, it was just an accident, as long as she doesnt do it again then its fine. A teacher should not get fired because she said the F word. She should get fired if that influences other kids to say it, they go home and say it or their parents find out.

Most teachers I know with that kind of mouth don't do it on accident . . they openly cuss and most of the time her students will laugh or think she's more cool because of it . . Of course if I knew about it I'd demand SOMETHING be done about it, yes. However, if it's a regular, nice teacher and something happens where it "slips" out, she's human and as long as it wasn't a recurring thing I wouldn't be bothered . .

As a parent, I'd probably call her on it and tell her its not a word I expect my children to hear at school or from a role model. I would expect her to apologize to me and the child...just so he/she knows that it was innapropriate in a school setting. I'd also tell her that it was really for my child's vocabulary sake that I was coming forward with this. Really at home, my husband says that word (especially during sports.) We've told our children that it is inappropriate for them to use and for it to be used by anyone at certain settings, such as school. I don't use badwords, but I know they hear them all around them.

As a teacher, I'd be very embarrassed! I'd apologize to the children right away and let them know that it "slipped" out. Then maybe we'd go through a more appropriate list of words I could've used. If a parent was offended, I'd apologize to them as well.

I don't think (either as teacher or as parent) that something so little as this should be taken any further. Really, it's not worth the trouble when children will be hearing these words out of all types of people's mouths almost on a daily basis.

Not necessarily fired, but some form of disciplinary action should be taken, maybe a written warning and being made to apologize to the student's that heard it as well as the parents of those students.

Hell no, do you know how much bullshit teachers put up with. I fill real SORRY for them and they don't get paid enough. **** sometimes I just want to be alone because my kids get on my nerves imagine their teachers nerves. Again teachers don't get paid enough to put up with the ****. And imagine most teachers have 10-25 students to put up with 5 days a week for most of the year.

No - but I would not want my student in with that teacher and I would request a letter of apology be written to all the students that were present.

ok,first of all you said "accidently".please, the teacher is an adult who knows adult language.also how many children do know the F word. i would say f**k has to be the most common word that everyone knows.
also i really dont get what is the whole cursing thing because by the time the child grows up he or she will curse and say f**k and assh**e and motherf***er and whatnot.

No. It is wrong but teachers are human too! They slip up and make mistakes at times. Besides, dealing with bratty kids all day has to be tough!

No but I would complain to my parents. That shouldn't be tolerated! I would go to school to learn, not be offended by my own teacher's mouth.
