good question.... general rule of thumb is to not go more than three shades away from your original color... I would suggest adding more auburn, reddish tones into your hair, I have the same skin tone and eyes as you described, and that usually works well for me. I bleached my hair once... whoa.. not a good idea for us with the tan skin! :)

Brown people always look exotic with black hair. If thati s too drastic, try a nice brown that is honey colored. If you want bolder, try brown with honey blond highlights.

I think you should stick to dark clors (not black) but deep browns and maybe some caramel highlights.
