What do people in other countries think about americans?(besides being the fattest country in the world)?

I am an American, living in Egypt now. (I've lived in Greece and Jordan, too.) I've always found it funny how welcomed Americans are overseas. Not funny, ha ha, but funny strange. What I mean is, aside from the usual American=wealth ideas, people overseas actually think Americans can separate the politics of their government from the ideas or beliefs of the actual people. See, in the US, we have the government system that actually can and does change periodically. Whereas in places like Jordan or Egypt, the faces may change but it's pretty much all the same in the govt and John Q. Public's opinion means little to nothing. So even though an Egyptian may hate the political actions of the United States, he will be quite a gracious and hospitable host to you in his country....because he can separate the rulers from the ruled.

Most Americans can't or don't.

We(USA) is the only country to help everybody out. So if you want to call us fat, so be it. Again, Our country, feeds the hunger all over the world. And besides, havent anybody notice ALL foreigners WANT to be in the land of FREE?

After being overseas and seeing how Americans treat others I would say a bit arrogant and self centered, but they wouldn't mind having what we enjoy here. It's tuff to get to be top dog but atleast Americans can afford to be charitable and normally do.
so lets hope they can see past some faults we may have.
