Limewire = Spyware. Most people don't care about that when it comes to getting free music cuz hey, it's FREE. "Small price to pay", huh? Search "free mp3" on google, I can't remember the exact sites but there are a few that actually get mp3's from source websites that give out free samples of songs (entire songs, used to entice people to buy albums). I like Shareaza for p2p, personally (no spyware, guaranteed), but after being privvy to SEVERAL people who got busted for illegal dl'ing, I now use yahoo for all of my music. $5 a month, can't beat that. 'Course it costs more if ya wanna burn the songs to a cd or put them on a portable player (bc of DRM) , but it's a "small price to pay" for freedom :D
P.S. After reading over my post, I came to the realization that lots of people were recommending Limewire Pro, which supposedly doesn't have spyware, unlike the basic version which does. Shareaza has a much bigger selection and I've found it to be faster, though. You decide, if you wanna go the illegal route. Peace out.
P.P.S. - Downloading on 56k would mean about 1 song per 15-20 minutes. Still not too bad. Course, the cheapest 56k ISP costs what... $10, give or take. Verizon dsl will only cost you $15 for 756k. Think about it. That would make each song = 30 seconds, approx. Good riddance, and I promise no more modifying of my extremely long post.

You need a file-sharing program, such as BEARSHARE.
Get the free one here: http://www.bearshare.com/ then after you have installed it, figured out how it works (easy bit) just search for the Pro version of BearShare and download that! Then you will have a registered version which is faster and advert-free and get all the movies and music you want for free!
Note: Beware of some files, especially porn movies as they can contain viruses and make sure if you need this type of media that your Anti-virus system is up to date.
ENUF SAID!

u need a newsreader such as "newsbin pro" and then u download direct from ur isp or some other company - as opposed to anotheruser like urself (thats who get arrested for this **** - u file sharers). Dont d/load limewire or any other file sharin prog as thoise b 4 me have recommonmded as u will get virus or similar either from the file sharing prog (eg limewire) or from using the bloody thing.
If they wanna arrest anyone using the newsreader prog they gotta arrest ur isp first so guess whos gonna be lucky? And as an added bonus u get ur full line speed for d/loads from ur isp as well as not having to worry bout ur ratio and "putting thigns back".
Do a google for newsbin pro tutorial and look up alt.binaries on google too.

You need broadband I'm afraid. Downloading for free is the domain of p2p networking. You need broadband really for that. Any website that offers downloads requires payment or they'd be breaking the law.

Sharebear is good. Except you can't load it on iPods. It has full albums listed so you don't have to go search for every song. The basic version is just fine. If you want premium, just search Bearshare Pro crack on google
