I have a computer in my living room using a wireless connection, it seems to run fine. Except it is slow when surfing the internet. Is there a way i can make it faster?

There are wireless routers that give a speed boost to the signal. They take the information and pump it through faster than a normal signal. You could also put some signal extensions on the router so that it throws the signal further. These are all suggestions that would help you out, I think. You can also upgrade your internet service to something fater, too. I guess we would need more information before we can accurately determine what will help you best.

Upgrade your Internet Connection.... Unless you are connected to another wireless connection aside from yours with a much slower connection then this is a different story. It is also possible that you don't have a wireless router where your first computer is directly connected to the internet and the other one is hookedup else where with an evern slower connection...

I guess the one in the living room is a laptop? They usually have slower CPUs and fewer resources all-around, so it is not unusual for a laptop to be slow compared to a desktop computer.
I suggest you make sure you are virus and spyware free, then clean and defrag the hard drive.
Lastly, make sure you don't have too many other things running that hog your available resources.

Are you using a router? I had trouble with my Dell laptop/linksys router until I found out that the router channel must be on channel 1 or 11 for Dell wireless cards using routers. Hope this helps!

don't use a wireless connection, I find they are slow, and they are also less secure, I would never send anything such as bank or credit card info over a wireless connection.
