It over fertilizes the plant like ammonia or, excuse me on this, dog pee. After it is diluted enough it again is a fertlizer. I guess if you had enough dogs or enough glad bags, you wouldn't need Roundup anymore! LOL

Roundup's active ingredient Glyophosphate inhibits an enzyme that plant's need to grow, called EPSP synthase. Without the enzyme, plants cannot product proteins they need to grow. As a result, the plant will wither and die over the course of days or weeks. Be careful when applying if you are near plants you want to keep, as it will kill most common plants. It will also kill aquatic plants, so do not dump it down a drain or run-off. While there are no studies showing that it is deadly to humans, it is known to irritate the skin, so avoid contact with your skin when using.

Roundup: Label - Keep out of reach of children, harmful if swallowed, avoid contact with eyes or prolonged contact with skin. Remove clothing if contaminated. Spray solutions of this product should be mixed, stored and applied only in stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, plastic and plastic-lined steel containers. This product or spray solutions of this product react with such containers and tanks to produce hydrogen gas that may form a highly combustible gas mixture. Its safe....it is a highly concentrated saline product, so the moisture in the plant wants to flow out of the plant (osmosis) and the the plant dies in a few days.
