I'm going to watch the display put on in the Portage Lakes in Akron, Ohio. They are pretty good. During the day instead of a regular parade like most places in the US, there is a boat parade in the Portage Lakes. The lakes, there are 9 of them, are connected by channels and canals and the boat parade winds through about 5 of them. The people decorate their boats in patriotic themes and like floats they are judged and given prizes for the best ones in different catagories. They is usually a 5K race and lots of other activities going on in the Lakes. The fireworks show is off the shore at Portage Lakes State Park and you can watch it from your boat, a great date with just you and your woman, or from the shore. They are the largest privately funded fireworks display in the state of Ohio.
