Taking a career aptitude test would be a good start. Those are designed to help you figure out what you enjoy doing and what you're best at.
However, the best advice I can give is to simply ask yourself what do you do for fun? I got a degree in business, and after getting a job in it I realized it wasn't something I enjoyed ... I was never really interested in stocks and bonds and mutual funds but that was all I heard about at my job. So I quit. And then I realized that what I did for fun was read about politics and getting involved in political campaigns. So I applied for a few political jobs, and I actually got one. I start in Fall, and am really excited. Often what you do as a hobby can make a great job.

If you have a college degree, you'll be a desirable candidate for many positions in fields that require creativity. Is there some area in which you'd like to work? Think about that. Also, the larger the town you live in, the more opportunities you'll have. Try looking up jobs on one of the many online employment sites, such as Monster. What can you picture youself doing? Ask your friends for suggestions, too.

I think that you must need friends ...so I would get a job that has travel involved. If I were artistic...I would go to Paris and stay in a youth hostel and join the artists that sit in the street and paint scenes for the tourists...and go to the Louvre and learn all about Paris and art. Then when I had spent about a year here...I would go to Barcelona or Madrid or Rome. Rome has beautiful art . i.e. I would see the world for inspiration and have something to contribute to the character of my art. Get going, Bon Voyage, Buenos suerte, Vaya con Dios, Arevedercci

Sounds like you want to be a professional student. You have a degree in Art why not teach it or get a job where your degree is needed.

Try Americorps Vista, or the Peace Corps. You'll get placed doing work you might not be able to break into via the traditional job market, and you'll probably have a rockin' year or two. If nothing else, you'll know that you do or don't want to continue on in the non-profit world.

Start by not letting other people tell you what you should do with your life...
As far as a job goes, it should be something you have a burning passion for. I knew what I wanted to do at 10 and enjoyed my 20 year career in television engineering to the max.
Those that can't do...teach.

i went through 4 years of college, obtained my bachelor's in journalism and art and had NO intention of wanting to work in that field whatsoever... so I took a break from it, worked whereever and then rediscovered myself and I am now a makeup artist and hairstylist and couldn't be more happy.
do what you love and what's in your heart.

per sue a life through education (at least high school) and work from there, if you want college I'd say go for it before you look for someone to marry if that's the path you want.
the purpose of life is to be happy, if your happy with your life then it's a success for you.
