Meredith Black is a 27 year old woman in New York with a great job, lots of friends, a great boyfriend, and a sister and a mother in Conneticut that she hasn't talked to in years. Then one day, she gets a call from her 13 year old sister and she learns that her mother is in the hospital.

When Meredith (or Merry, as her friends call her) makes it to the hospital, her mother is on her deathbed and her last wish is that she wants Meredith to tell Isabella (Meredith's sister) the truth about a secret that occurred 13 years before. Meredith doesn't want to comply, but her mother dies before she can tell her that.

Meredith takes Isabella into her home in New York and immediately becomes a parental figure, even though Isabella doesn't immediately settle in to Meredith's life. Meredith is still plagued with her secret about Isabella and she wonders if she should tell the 13 year old the truth, especially so soon after her mother's death.

Seems to be an interesting story. If it is filmed and made into one of those "Moment of Truth" movies or a "Movie of the Week", it would kill it - would come off a piece of fluff and mediocre, or 'smaltzie'. May be more effective it was a 'mini-series', or a continuing drama series (the characters could be more developed, as well as the secret of the past.) Would be a good (book) story to read. Did you write this? If so, very good!

I think that I would watch this show because if Meredith is really Isabella's mom, there's the entire season to see if Isabella comes to terms with it or to see how Meredith conceived Isabella, if she was raped or if she was just careless, and how Meredith's friends and boyfriend will react, assuming that this is one of those shows that would be on television. I would also watch to see who Isabella's father is and if he'll want to take her away. Then, there's the whole issue of Isabella's life. I'm assuming that she's going to be starting a new school and meeting new people.
What will happen to her. Will she end up following in her mother's footsteps? There is so many reasons why I would watch.

Sure but it is pretty easy to guess ?? that Meredith is Isabella's mom?? and that is kinda played out but if you add a little more it could be a really interesting show.

No, this does not seem like a show worth watching. I'm sorry to be blunt, but it is predictable and formulaic. Plus, there's a zillion other shows and movies out there with plots like this. The fact that one of your first posters told you the "secret" should tell you that it's not worth doing... or watching.
