ascii doesn't have a cents symbol. for the entire list of ascii symbols see http://www.jimprice.com/ascii-0-127.gif

Go to the start button, then run, and type in: charmap.
A window will open that displays all the extended characters in the font you are currently using. Look for the cent sign, highlight it, click the copy button, and then paste it into your document. If there is no cent sign, try changing to a different font.

To insert a cents symbol ¢ in Word, press Ctrl + /(slash), then press C.

in anything else, press ALT + 0162
