As far as just the pole themselves, nether is more important than the other. It’s like two sides of a coin, can’t have one without the other.
Now if you are referring to which has more importance to science than the case can be made that the South Pole is more important. The North Pole lies under an ocean thus not much can be done as far a research there.
The South Pole is on a slowly moving ice sheet (10m a year) in Antarctica. There is a station there that does research in a number of areas, from geology to astrophysics.

Neither can exist without the other. The north and south pole are the points where the magnetic field which surrounds the earth starts and ends. A magnetic field requires both a north and south pole as the magnetic field arcs from one pole to the other.

both are important because one could never be without the other its just like the man ( man cannot live without the others). In other words no man is an island. Therefore , the north and the south pole are important.
