Miroslav Klose! That guy has been awesome for Germany, both scoring and creating goals for other people. He has been very smart with the ball in every game. I've seen several players have excellent games, most recently Zindane against Spain, but Klose has been the best over the whole tournament.

I don't think anyone has stood out head and shoulders above anyone else YET.
But now with the Quarter Finals about to start this is the time when somebody usually rises to the top, this is when players can become Heroes and Villians with a kick of a ball or a drop of the shoulder
Bring it on

Miroslav Klose, of Germany. He scored four goals in the group stage, two of them game winners, and assisted both of Podolski's goals against Sweden in the round of 16 to get Germany through to the quarterfinals. So thats three matches that, without him, Germany might not have won. Also, he hasnt said or done anything really stupid, on or off the field. In Korea/Japan 2002, he didnt score after the group stage. If he does that again, I, for one, would be disapointed. Look for him to be crucial against Argentina.

Personally, I think Frank Ribery of France has being an outstanding player. He makes plays, he hussles, and he scores goals.
I also think Miguel of Portugal has being great but no one notices him. He is fast, he is a great defender and no goal has ever being scored from his side of the field.
Those are my two top choices.
Did I forget Zidane? (stupid me)
Zidane has proven that old players can still make a huge difference in the success of a team. Go Zizou!!!!

So far Miroslav Klose from Germany.

I was also impressed by Vieira and Zidane (France) and several players from Argentina and Brazil.
